2026 Faculty
Paul Schenly
Founder and Director of Pianofest in the Hamptons, Paul Schenly is an Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and internationally acclaimed soloist who has performed with leading orchestras and in major concert halls worldwide. He is Artistic Director of the Cleveland International Piano Competition and former Chair of Piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Ursula Oppens
A defining voice in American piano music, Ursula Oppens is internationally celebrated for her pioneering work in contemporary repertoire and her authoritative interpretations of the classics. A multiple GRAMMY nominee and prolific recording artist, she is a Distinguished Professor of Music at Brooklyn College, the CUNY Graduate Center, and Mannes.
Jerome Lowenthal
Renowned for his depth of musical insight and expressive range, Jerome Lowenthal is a legendary concert pianist and educator. A long standing faculty member at The Juilliard School, he has shaped generations of pianists through more than five decades of teaching and performing worldwide.
Pavel Nersessian
Internationally recognized for his versatility and artistry, Pavel Nersessian is a prizewinning pianist with a global performing career. He is a professor at New England Conservatory and Boston University and continues to teach at the Moscow Conservatory.
Konstantin Soukhovetski
Pianist, composer, and educator, Konstantin Soukhovetski is known for his innovative approach to performance and pedagogy. A Juilliard faculty member and Pianofest Artist in Residence, he maintains an active international career and is a recipient of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans.

Important Note
Pianofest is intended for college-age students enrolled in a conservatory or university.
It is expected that all students will have full insurance coverage for travel- and health-related problems and emergencies.
Application Information
To apply for Pianofest 2026, we require:
(1) submission of an application form, including 45 minutes of video recordings from at least 3 contrasting historical style periods. (2) a nonrefundable application fee of $45.
5-week session (starting June 22)
All students attending Pianofest receive a full scholarship, room and board plus a stipend.
DEADLINE: Pianofest has a rolling deadline, the last day of which is April 1st. Therefore, decisions will be made on an ongoing basis up through April 1st. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
